Annie Risbridger Hind
Annie, host for our workshop, has many varied interests. Piano, gardening and Beekeeping top the list!
Annie and her husband Andrew purchased Tigh na Breac, which had lain derelict since 1964. In 2004 a major rebuild project was undertaken, and completed in late 2007.
A pianophile since starting to learn to play as an adult, Annie continues to learn from, and enjoy the playing of others. This is a huge part of the motivation for the workshops, as well sharing Tigh na Breac with guests.
As Annie is now retired, she is enjoying the huge challenge of trying to catch up with her inspiring pianist friends. An impossible task - obviously - but she just loves learning and progressing in all her areas of interest!
Annie graduated from Sir John Cass School of Art in 1979 with a Diploma in Jewellery Design and Manufacture.
Always interested in nature, art and in making things, her path led from jewellery design to manufacturing engineering when she joined the family firm - Risbridger Ltd - in 1990. Appointed a Director in 1997, Annie took over as Managing Director in 2003.
Annie’s interests are many and varied: music, gardening, beekeeping, painting, sewing and knitting, cake making and decoration, interior and building design - not to mention piano and singing.
Acting as host and chief cook, Annie ran successful Painting Courses at Tigh na Breac from 2011 - 2016.
More recently Annie has returned to the world of jewellery design, and continues to enjoy designing and making
fine jewellery, bespoke or re-modelled pieces.
